On Fire

                                      I am on fire.
                                      In no way contained
                                      Out of control
                                      Spreading fast
                                      Jumping lines.
                                      A force of nature.

                                      I suggest
                                      You evacuate the area
                                      Immediately.

                                      How did this happen,
                                      You ask.
                                      Oh, come now.
                                      Stop wringing your hands.
                                      Open your eyes.

                                      I am merely divining
                                      The gold,
                                      The source of the nectar.

                                      The hot breath of life,
                                      Fueled by time,
                                      Has lit the spark.
                                      Has triggered the eruption.

                                      That’s what happened.

                                      Don’t be afraid.
                                      Be relieved.
                                      Be grateful.
                                      Be happy.
                                      Celebrate the bursting forth
                                      Of new life
                                      That grows within,
                                      Taking its stand,
                                      Taking its course.
                                      A magic scorching.

                                      Why else
                                      Would I be here?
